This class is an all-encompassing, muscle-building approach to acting. While we don't ascribe to any particular school of thought or technique (and we've studied them all!), we will focus on what works best for YOU. After all, there is only one YOU in this world! Whether you've completed Conservatory Training, taken a few Improv classes, or are just starting, we will meet you there and work together to let the real you shine through your work!
Our sessions will focus on various audition techniques, the new and ever-evolving world of self-taping (and learning to love it because it's not going anywhere soon!), breaking down an audition, scene study, making strong choices, and so much more! All of your work will be taped for you so that you can go back and reference it as you move forward and grow in your work.
DISCOVERY (Intro Class) Tuesdays
On-Going Scene Study & Audition Technique
This class takes you above and beyond the script breakdown. We believe that you cannot possibly create a full character from beginning to end and all of the character arcs in between without understanding your role in the whole story. This goes for movies, television, stage, commercials, really everything! This class will give you the tools to focus on the context and clues from the writing so that you can extrapolate all those character pieces you need to create a whole, realized, grounded character. Whether you are a one-day Co-Star, Series Regular, or looking to nail that Commercial Audition, this class offers a unique tool for creating whole, confident characters.
This class is not only geared toward technique AFTER you book but also zeros in on delivering a unique take on a role in an audition that will book the job!
Business of Acting
So you're taking the classes, doing the work, and booked a job or two…now what?
It's called "Show Business" because it is a business, first and foremost. Unfortunately, we are mostly left to figure that part out after the Conservatory and Improv troupes have come and gone. Technique and training will only go so far if you don't know how to parlay that into a lifelong career-which are what we all aspire to achieve! This class covers everything from discovering and honing your brand, material consultation, self-taping, self-promoting, putting your networking to work for you, callbacks and what happens in the room, producer sessions, and so much more!
This is a class we wish we had had in our training and a style we've never seen at any other studio!
